CHEERS! Leader-in-waiting Richard Kemp provide an insight into how he will celebrate victory on Monday...

Lib Dim Leader-in-waiting Richard Kemp has provided a fascinating glimpse into how he will celebrate victory on Monday.
Kemp, who looks increasingly likely to defeat Fireman Bradley in the battle to be Leader of Liverpool city council, is determined to set a good example to our citizens.
He has already made it clear to Lib Dim colleagues that he intends to develop long-term strategies (and he has got tons of strategies, ed) against teenage obesity, under-age drinking and anti-social behaviour.
And he has pledged to personally launch a new crusade to clean up the city centre's streets so that families can enjoy them.
Interesting then, that in the Local Government Association’s First magazine, Cllr Kemp, has written about his own personal activities with refreshing frankness.
Here is one fascinating extract: “Life at a Lib-Dem conference is gruelling. We start meetings from 8am and finish drinking at 7am! "We train and drink, we talk and drink, we pass resolutions and drink, we sometimes drink and pass resolutions – which is not thought to be in the right order. But we do work hard!”
How reassuring it is to know that our great city is going to be in the hands of such a fine, responsible and upstanding leader.

roll on his leadership - it can only hasten the Glib Dims banishment from ever running the City again.

Is anyone allowed to post anythng on here or are you going to throw another strop because somewone has quoted something again? Is this somehere for Liverpool people to highlight the current administration's failings or somewhere for "the Tonys" to highlight just how great they are even if they say so themselves?! If it is the latter then lets all leave it here and let the gos take over.

We'll probably throw a strop if people patronise us again. And no, people are obviously not allowed to post anything they like.

Who are the gos? Are they an offshoot of the BNP?

Can we get back to the main issue please?

Gos = gossip, I guess

He wants to know if any gossip can find its way onto here; or only gossip 'approved' by the Tonys

Should that say egos and not gos? Is somebody's "e" broken on their keyboard? My G and B are a bit broken which is why I could never be a successful blogger just a loer.

But then if my "s" was stuck, people would think I was a loser.

Have any other readers got broken or stuck letters on their keyboards?

I just spoke to Mr Pastry and asked him what size majority he thinks he will get.

He said, "I'll have a large one." So after that I asked him again.

"what should I do about Nadia?" he asked.

"Chase her" I said.

" Don't mind if I do" he said.

So whatever happens, expect a few hiccups.

Should be fun, allegedly the Directors can't stand him and there was jubilation when he had to resign as Exec Member for Housing over the Boot fiasco. Mind you that was before Wally. But just the qualification to become leader.

But if he kicks Storey out of the Cabinet that will at least generate a few smiles.

I think you exaggerate Kemp's support. By my reckoning, he will come third - he's not even popular in his own household, never mind his own lunchtime. So that means Bradley will just sneak it from Clein, probably on the first ballot. It's anyone's guess what Clein will do then, but I can't see how he can stay under Bradley's leadership. Kemp will just bugger off back to London, where he is a big Lib Dem fish in a very small bowl. Bradley will hang on until the Standards Board pronounces - and he hasn't given any evidence to them yet. Which means that Uncle Joe can continue to play the Lib Dems for suckers for another three months. Then they will have to go through all this again. As your poll implies, they are finished anyway. Hic.

Would it be helpful at this point if the Boot estate report which Sir Diddy covered up for his mate, were to suddenly re-appear in all its glory?

To anonoymous who thinks Tony's go off on one, the Tony's have worked very hard with this blog and have been threatened like myself with various legal challenges.
you can't imagine what the real Tony Parrish has been through so he has a right to throw a strop now and again.
To the other anonymous who asked about the report from Sir Dithery and Kemp, ref the Boot estate, I don't know about you Tony but I think thats a good idea if you want to get rid of Kemp, however it might help Bradley?
Clein has more support than it seems at the moment because of his stance on Bradley.
They are all idiots as far as I'm concerned, but then I am biased.

Ta Tori. A true star...
Meanwhile, the Boot estate report would be great - we don't know why Uncle Joe doesn't ask for a copy of it under Freedom of Information. Remember, Henshaw hushed the report up before FOI was even introduced. It would be interesting to see what justification they now gave for keeping it quiet - it involves public money, a public body, the public interest. Of course, that has never stopped the council from keeping things quiet in the past...

I have no reason to believe that the craven sycophants of the Liverpool Lib dems have suddenly lost their cowardice.

Has anybody considered the possibility that the whole leadership battle could be a smokescreen carefully orchestrated by the puppetmeister and his puppet to 'prove' they still have the support of the party they lead by intimidation.

Anyone would think that the Tonys had deliberately embarked on a campaign to trash Kemp and wreck his chances by posing questions about his past and his behaviour, and that you were thus secretly hoping that Bradley won, presumably so that he will have to face the ignomy and the turmoil of the Standards Board in a few months and then possibly get disqualified from office with the Storeyteller, which would mean another Lib Dem leadership battle before the year is out and thus further expose them as weak and divided and thoroughly disreputable. Possibly confining them to a wheely bin for a very very long time. Possibly?

Turkish delight anyone?

To Conspiracy theorist, sounds like a good plan that. :)

Who would the first Mrs K. have voted for I wonder?

Hurrah! A Victory for World Nits!
Wally Wins and the Standards Board beckons.

How the council use Ripa to spy on you....
